How much do your puppies cost?
Our puppies cost $1,800. We are not out to make tons of money, but aim to provide high quality golden retriever puppies for families. In order to provide health tested, top notch temperment dogs we- breed champion pedigreed dogs with excellent health and temperment genetic lines, do yearly health testing, feed them Nature's Domain Salmon food with raw supplements, hire professional trainers, and raise them in the midst of our family life for special care and attention.
Do Picklebee Acres golden retrievers shed?
Our dogs come from field and moderate lines. This means that they don't shed nearly as much as "show line " goldens. Our golden retrievers have smooth, silky coats that dries quickly after going for a swim! This is ideal for families that want to take their puppies on hiking adventures without burs getting stuck in their fur! They usually have one "blow out" a year, that lasts about a week. Otherwise we don't even notice the hair! Our dogs need minimal grooming, that can be done at home. We hardly ever have to brush them!
What does your SuperDog program mean?
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), or the ‘Super Dog Program,’ is a simple set of brief daily exercises done from days 3–16 after birth. It helps puppies and kittens develop stronger hearts, better stress tolerance, and increased resistance to disease.
We also gently expose them to new sounds, smells, and tastes, and they’re raised in our busy, kid-filled home so they grow up confident and well-socialized disease
How do we get placed with a puppy?
After your application is reviewed (it’s not a test!), we’ll have a clear idea of what you’re looking for in a puppy. We strive to breed consistent golden retriever puppies with easy, stable temperaments. All of our puppies love people, have great on/off switches, and we’ll do our best to help you choose the right one. Puppy picks take place in the order that deposits are received
Why pick us?
Our puppies are raised in a loving family home environment, not a kennel. Our dogs are our family pets and are loved, snuggled, and well exercised. Each breeding dog goes through comprehensive health and temperament testing to help improve the golden retriever breed. We also work hard to stay affordable for families while still covering the cost of exceptional care for our dogs and providing for our homeschooling family.

Where are your farm products sourced?
All our products are grown and harvested directly here at Picklebee Acres. We take pride in our sustainable, small-batch approach to farming.
What products do you offer?
We have weekly egg runs to Omaha or you can pick up on the farm! Seasonal products are: beef, pork, and raw milk. Coming soon we will have apple/berry picking and honey products!

Visiting the Farm
What are your visiting hours?
We are open by appointment only to ensure a peaceful environment for our animals and family. Please contact us to schedule your visit.
How do we get to the farm?
We are located in the rolling Loess Hills of Iowa, just a short drive from Omaha off Interstate 80. Detailed directions are sent with appointment confirmations.
Can we meet the puppies?
Puppy visits are available for families on our waiting list once puppies have reached a safe age for socialization and health protection.
What should we wear?
Picklebee Acres is a working farm. We recommend comfortable outdoor clothing and closed-toe shoes that you don't mind getting a little dusty.
